Daniel Footwear appoints Oikian to create first mobile app

Luxury footwear and accessories retailer Daniel Footwear has appointed mobile marketing specialist Oikian to create its first mobile app, as the retailer ramps up its efforts to offer a more personalised shopping experience.

The app allows consumers to browse from a vast collection of designer brands, including Vivienne Westwood, Michael Kors, Marc Jacobs and DKNY, which sit alongside its own brand – Daniel, which is made in some of the finest factories in Italy.

In addition to covering the basics of an app, it also boasts key features that are designed to drive loyalty and increase engagement; Oikian’s sophisticated technology sends out location-based notifications when shoppers are within 200m of a store, prompting them to come in-store. The mobile marketing platform publishes messages that appear only when and where they are relevant – shoppers receive bespoke, targeted offers and promotions when they are near a store.

The app also encourages consumers to share their shopping experience via social media channels, helping the retailer to increase interaction and build brand affinity.

Daniel Footwear currently has over 30 stores in 25 locations across the UK.
